From The Uncle Floyd Show, Good Morning Vietnam
Also featuring Tom Mongelli

Floyd Vivino began his career in show business as a child performer, giving piano recitals and appearing as a dancer with Sandra Lee and Jill Davison. He danced at the 1964 World’s Fair in New York and at the Steel Pier in Atlantic City. As a high school student he was being groomed by dance and piano instructors to pursue careers in those fields. Finding it difficult to practice the piano eight hours a day, or working out in ballet class, he dropped both in his junior year, performing instead in the drama club. In high school, on stage, he found the sound of laughter more fulfilling than applause. After high school he went right to work in show business, finding employment in circus, nightclubs, amusement parks, and as a comedian in the few remaining burlesque shows. His varied experiences in the performing arts finally led him to television where he began his own show titled The Uncle Floyd Show in New Jersey on January 29,1974. The show developed a following in the New York-New Jersey area in the 1970′s. Now in its 24th year it is the longest running television show in New Jersey TV history. In February 1987 he started his own Italian radio program, The Italian-American Serenade, which is broadcast on WRTN-FM out of New Rochelle, NY. Vivino claims to have the largest private collection of Italian records outside of Italy, some 250,000. He has appeared as an actor on NBC-TV Law And Order (twice), ABC-TV soap opera Loving, Bill Boggs’ Comedy Tonight (syndicated), Nickelodeon’s Turkey TV and has filled in for Gilbert Gottfried on USA TV’s Up All Night. Comedy Channel audiences have seen him in the Dr. Demento Show. Between all this he managed to get small acting roles in several films including “Good Morning Vietnam”, “Crazy People”, “Mr. Wonderful”, “A Pyromaniac’s Love Story” and “The Clowns of Babylon”. Performing live however, has always remained his first love. He has played the Catskill and Pocono mountains resorts for many years, working the stages at Caesar’s, The Fernwood, Friar Tuck, Roseland Ranch, Green Lake, The Nevelle, Pine Grove, Kelly’s, Villa Baglieri and Villa Roma. He has also toured with or opened for many including Jimmy Roselli, Lou Monte, Melba Moore, Jerry Vale, Pat Cooper, Al Martino, Pete Seegar, Toni Arden, Julius LaRosa, Tom Chapin, Eddie Rabbit, Jimmy Sturr. Currently living in New Jersey, Floyd appears live about 300 nights a year in clubs and on stage.

February 14-15 – George Gallo

SPECIAL EVENT General Admission $23.00/$20.00 for those having dinner first

From The Jim Breuer Show, Comedy Central, MTV
Also featuring Marq Overton & Kim Jonny

George Gallo is one of those performers that keeps his audiences riveted because they don’t want to miss a thing.  Whether he is performing on stage, or directing / producing / acting in a video short, he is an entertainer to the very core. George began “performing” as early as the fourth grade, and says by the seventh grade even his teachers took notice.  One teacher even went so far as to take George around where he impersonated all of the teachers in the school – and kept them all laughing while he did it. He was in fact voted “Most Humorous” by his high school class, but it was his talent for mimicry that has evolved into an uncanny ability to reproduce an exact sound, voice, or character.

A child of the seventies and admitted science fiction freak, his influences include Cheech and Chong, Robins Williams, Eddie Murphy and Steven Spielberg movies.  His involvement as an extreme BMX bicyclist gave him the physical confidence to work in a high degree of physicality into his performances, and he soon began acting in, producing, and directing short segments for radio.  These “bits” led to video segments that have since been featured on NBC, Make Me Laff, FOX, and Comedy Central, to name a few.  Word of his talent for writing led to several segment writer gigs, as well as featured comic spots at some of NY’s most well-known comedy venues.

Gallo doesn’t stop there.  He says he likes to have a lot going on at once; whether it’s simple joke telling, chatting up the audience, or demonstrating his latest cast of characters (ask him about Henry, his newest character, or the post-plastic surgery woman face), Gallo delivers it all with an almost alarming level of energy.

A few of his standard bits that you don’t want to miss include the backwards record because it not only showcases his sound effect talent, but it’s so funny that it’s hard to tell which is more impressive – the sound replication or the humor. With more than 40 video shorts to his credit including the most recent “Downtown Taxi in NYC” and “Annoying Cell Phone Guy” (www.georgegallo.com) George plays with the human condition like dangling yarn in front of a cat.  A native Long Islander, he has been performing across the tri-state area for more than 15 years.  His stints on 92.3 K-Rock, Caroline’s Comedy Hour, Short Attention Span Theatre, Evening at the Improv and as a segment writer make him one of the most diverse and sought-after entertainers in the industry.

George is very selective about his content and language, and feels responsible to create comedy that is funny without being offensive.  (Unless the offensive thing is really really funny.)

February 21-22 – Johnny Watson

From Saturday Night Live & Good Morning America
Also featuring Chip Ambrogio & Johnny Hollywood

Johnny Watson is a nationally headlining comic whose star is on the rise. He’s earning a reputation as clean and clever with the charm of “the boy next door”. Except that you wouldn’t want to be his neighbor growing up… Watson, a kid from a dysfunctional home lived in some of New Jersey’s seedier neighborhoods with his two brothers and two sisters. He learned to use his razor sharp wit to survive. “I was the poor kid on free lunch who always got my balls busted so since I couldn’t really fight, I had to be funny.” He started drinking when he was five years old and kept on going until high school, (“I was burned out from drinking by the time I got into high school, so I became the designated driver before they had designated drivers,” he says). After briefly attending college in California, Johnny joined the Navy. Once he got out, he turned to comedy as a full-time profession (his grandmother implored him to become a comedian because “you can’t do anything else right”) And so… a comedy career was born. Since then Johnny has taken life’s lemons and turned them into lemonade which he freely shares with his fans! And coast to coast, They Love It! You’ve seen Johnny at some of the biggest Comedy Clubs in the country and he has also been seen on TV, (most notably Saturday Night Live and Good Morning America and in a host of independent films and theater productions. Now you can see him perform, live, at The Comedy Cove this Saturday Night.
