August 21-22 – Joseph Anthony

From The View, Atlantic City, Las Vegas, Howard TV
Also featuring Davin Rosenblatt and Matt Lacy

Joseph’s father was an Italian Immigrant, who entered the United States just after WWII and began his career as a Longshoreman at the age of 17. He quickly climbed up the management ladder. His mother was born in Brooklyn, NY and raised Joseph on: delicious dishes, overbearing love, inherent O.C.D. … And incidentally, had a mean right hook – for someone who stood only 4’ 11!” Surprisingly, being raised (in part) by his five older sisters who frequently opened Joseph’s mind up to such things as: how to use a hot curling hair kit, cleaning the crevices of wood furniture, and being a constant (mini) Hustle practice partner, all with the absence of any brothers and a father determined to figure out the fine art of betting, he (Joseph) was no stranger to the ways of the streets, but also enjoyed a quiet retreat to read and write at a very young age. The results you say? He can hold court with both

Harvard and Sing Sing prison alumni, just the same. Yet despite his upbringing, he belongs to no one particular group, class, click, or innate stereotypes, as it were. In the world of entertainment, he’s simply referred to quite often as: VERSATILE – TALENTED – FUNNY – SMART!  Joseph studied writing style and screen writing at the New School for Social Research, in New York City.  He learned the basics of filmmaking at the College of Staten Island, NY. He studied the Meisner technique of acting under Joanna Beckson (Ray Romano’s teacher), herself a student of the famed Actors Studio.

In January of 1990, he stepped onstage at PIPS Comedy Club in Brooklyn, New York. He immediately found the avenue for all three of his artistic passions – writing, acting and stand up comedy. Today, Joseph is a frequently requested performer/headliner at the most well known comedy clubs and countless venues in the Northeast and around the country.

August 28-29 – Mark DeMayo

Also featuring Troy Alan and Tim Hayes

Mark DeMayo is hilarious. He has been one of the best comedians on the East Coast for over a decade. He is a regular at the top Comedy Clubs in NYC & Tri‐State area. He headlines Casino Resorts and has toured College Campuses throughout the country. Mark worked his way to the top of the comedy business. All the while continuing to fight crime as a NYC Police Detective. Recently retired from The NYPD, Mark DeMayo is now free to tell the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth, about what its really like to be a NYC Cop. “People always ask Cops for directions, and you gotta give something, otherwise they look at you like a your a douche. If I didn’t know the answer, I would just point and say, go down two blocks and make a right. Hey its NYC, they’ll be something interesting waiting for ‘em over there, hopefully a smarter cop”.

Mark’s stories about his days on the force are hysterical, insightful and interesting and will soon be included in his One Man Show perfectly entitled “20 & OUT”. Mark also has jokes to spare on what its like to be married for a really, really long time. “My wife is beautiful. Sometimes I look at her and think, wow I wish I could have sex with her”. Mark’s teenage children do not escape his wrath either. “My son is 15, the other day he said, dad can I have a sip of your beer? I said absolutely not!…Go get your own…”.

Mark’s Stand‐Up has been featured Showtime’s “White Boyz in da Hood” Comedy Centrals “Laffopolooza” Si‐Tv’s Latino Laughter and the film “Stand‐Up 360”. He can also be scene giving celebrity commentary on MTV & Spike TV. Mark is also an accomplished actor with guest starring roles on CBS “DellaVentura” “Central Park West” and Fox “The Jury.

“A MUST-SEE FOR EVERY COMEDY CONNOISSEUR”

“I dropped out of West Point to Become a Comedian…probably the greatest service I will ever do for my country”

MacArthur attended West Point and became a National hero.

Eisenhower attended West Point and became the President of the United States.

Ross Bennett attended West Point, dropped out and became a comedian.

The mid-70’s were a different era, and West Point was admitting a different kind of cadet when Ross Bennett was sworn in on July 8, 1975. But by 1977 Ross had decided that he wanted to take aim and fire jokes at nightclub audiences. So he undertook a giant career change, he dropped out of West Point, and landed right square in the middle of the comedy explosion that was taking America by storm.

For 30 years Ross has led a comedy attack. Armed with an expressive delivery and real life topics. Growing up with a father who was a Marine Colonel (a nice mellow guy!), grade school snow days,
disastrous golf games, catastrophic water skiing outings and middle age medical procedures. ROSS BENNETT is a high-powered performer who takes his act to the audience and comes back with a
